Help My new Ace (7 days old) suddenly turned off while charging!

Hey guys! I'm new here!

I've got a problem with my new Galaxy Ace. I've been using for just 7 days but yesterday I faced a problem that really worried me.

I put it at my desk and connected it with the AC cable to charge it as I normally did every night (turned on, of course). 40 minutes after i received a call at home from my mom asking me what was happening to my phone since she couldn't comunicate with me.

I went to my desk to see what was going on and noticed it was still charging but, for my surprise, it was doing it turned off (black with the green battery at the middle). Basically, it just turned off suddenly while charging. I had to unplug the AC cable, turn it on again and plug the power cable again to finish charging it.

That was the only issue I've had with the phone for almost 8 days.

I have the stock rom from my vendor (GB 2.3.4) and the only thing I did to it was rooting it and installing CWM5 so I could made a backup image of it.

Is this randomly shuting down thing something "normal" on Android/Aces ? As I said, it only happend once in like 8 days but now I'm kind of worried about it.

Any suggestions and feedback will be appreciated!

Thanks!

Was your wifi on by any chance??
Go to your wifi settings, click the left softkey to open menu, go into the advanced settings and turn the wifi sleep mode policy to 'never'.
Do this anyway, it has caused many unusual shut downs for many, might be your solution.

Thanks for your response!

Yes, WIFI was connected. It's weird because I have been charging for its 7 days without problems.

However I followed your advise and turned that sleep option to "never".

Let's see how it goes for the next couple of days!

I will be reporting :)

Thanks!
