My Note 4 is tripping

I'm on AT&T, and my N4 has been tripping lately. Battery going from 20% to 5%, and back. Just yesterday it went to 15% and started turning itself on/off until the battery eventually ran out. I've enjoyed my N4 since it came out and never had any issues until recently.

Just today, I checked the software update and it gave me an option to update. I'm thinking I was about to get MM 6.0, come to find out, after updating it shows 5.1.1. WTF?! I thought I had 5.1.1 already? Is the N4 ever going to update. Looks like a trade-in may be due, as the S7 Edge has my .

Your battery may be ready to fail. Have you tried a different battery? As far as Android 6 goes on the Note 4, manufacturers will only support devices to a point... then they expect you to buy a new device if you want the latest and greatest. Many older devices simply don't have the hardware requirements necessary for the upgrade. The S7 Edge is a perfectly capable phone, but my money's saved up for the Note 6, which is rumored to be revealed sometime in July.

Thanks for the advice, Chief. What confuses me is, what the hell did I download today then? It took about 35 minutes, went to a white screen with a timer, and said "updating 31 of 124 apps".

As for holding out until July, the BOGO offer for the S7 is to hard to pass up for me. The wife needs a new phone, so I might as well get on board upgrade with her.

Sounds like it was a bug-fix and/or a security update then, if it's still on same Android version. There might be some notes with the update, about what's been done.

And the clock thingy, is probably rebuilding the apps ART cache, which has to be done after an update like that

my buddy said the last AT&T update did not change anything as far as looks, so it had to be a security update.
