Help My phone IMEI number corresponds to a different phone

Hi,

I have a THL T11, which allows you to use 2 SIM cards. I've been using a Vodafone SIM card but today I installed a new one from another carrier. Unfortunately, I keep receiving the "Mobile network not available"-message. According to this carrier, the telephone needs to be compatible with their network, so they ask you to check this with the IMEI number. The result is negative. The thing is, this phone is unblocked so there shouldn't present this type of problem.

So I did an IMEI check and according to it, the IMEI number corresponds to a NOKIA 6070. How can this be? This phone has nothing to do with mine, at all!!!

I was wondering if this means that I have to unlock my phone, which doesn't make any sense.

I would appreciate any help on this.

Thanks a lot.

I've seen this a couple of times with off brand devices, and the only thing you can do is contact the retailer/manufacturer unfortunately.

IMEI's are device specific and unique so it looks as though an older IMEI has been recycled and given to your phone. :(

If you want, you can double check what the network are saying here: http://www.imei.info/
