Help My phone is constantly "locating" I think?

My phone is in a constant state of "locating" and my phone battery is getting DRAINED. I unplugged it at 7am this morning and at 12:10pm it's at 40% when the only thing I've done today is send a couple e-mails. My girlfriend has the exact same phone but with a different carrier and she'll use her phone all day at work and come home to it being at 50%, when I'm lucky if a normal 9-5 working day if my phone is alive when I get home and I barely use it. The thing using up almost all of my battery is "Android System"

I'm not sure how to describe the symbol in my task bar but it looks like a satellite and it basically never goes away.

What phone do you have? Do you have any maps or weather apps?

If you have location Services enabled and gps enabled and you work in a steel or concrete building which shields your phone from gps signals, your phone may well drain quickly because it is always searching. Try turning gps off in settings.
