My phone keeps downloading the same file

A few days ago I clicked on a file from a FB page. It s a pdf document from a friend however since then it keeps downloading automatically over and over again. I got 10+ copies within a couple of days
I went into my task manager but there are no processes.... And this morning yet another copy downloaded itself on my phone.
How can i stop this please? Help!

Hello xxmimxx and welcome to AF!

If you open the Browser, see if there are any extra tabs open? Sometimes if the downloading tab is left open behind the scenes every time you open the browser it will re-download the file.

Either way let us know if that fixed it or not so we can try to do some more research.

Thanks Stigy , why didnt i think of that! Just earlier today it downloaded another copy. ... I opened my Internet browser and the first page was the fb download

I think that was it but if it downloads again i will update the thread.

Hi, I have the exact same problem, but I've already tried deleting the browser history and closing all tabs. It seems to happen every time I try to search with google (even though the original file was downloaded from a page I visited in chrome without doing a google search).

I'm having the same problem also. It's actually a photo I took with the phone and sent to two friends. I'll get around 40 copies overnight. Even factory resetting the phone did nothing. Am unable to clear the cache in the download app. Thanks for any help.
