My phone taps screen on its own

pilotdown

Lurker
The issue I am having is that the phone often enters a state where it keeps on pressing the touchscreen's buttons by its self, and I have to press the back button several times to try and go back while it keeps opening new screens or entering text on its own. It happens randomly in the lower right corner of the screen, and it will press anything that is in that area (for example: on home screen in the lower right area is browser icon, and it keeps tapping and opening it). Could accidentally dropping the phone or humidity in the air cause it for instance?

Moisture on a touch screen device can cause weird things to happen but I'v only seen them happen when something was spilled on the device. You know like drops of water, coffee, soda, or sweat. I'm not sure how a gradual build up of moisture caused by humidity would affect them.

That being said try drying and cleaning your screen. Pay close attention to the screen edges. HTH
