Help My phone was just stolen and neither ADM nor Lookout are tracing it. What can I do?

I got robbed near the mall. I've already called the police of course.

But I'm trying to trace the phone to trace the robbers and give that information. The trouble is neither Android Device Manager nor Lookout are returning a location. I've tried remotely installing AndroidLost and Find My Phone Security but I can't figure out how to start them remotely.

What can I do? I have limited time, I'm sure; I heard the low battery sound shortly before it happened.

Yeah, I sent the "01234" text even though I was running KitKat because doesn't remote install work on KitKat anyway? Nothing happened. ADM isn't even saying it's been online today (since it's past midnight and the date is different now). Probably just lost forever.

I'm afraid you cannot remotely install on KitKat so ADM would seem your best prospect.

Best of luck with recovering your phone

Make sure to contact your carrier right away, from what i understand carriers can brick stolen devices. You might not get your phone back, but the slime who stole it will be left with a useless device for $50-$100 you can have a replacement device sent depending upon carrier and insurance
