My phone won't download or play Mp3 files. Can someone help me?

I get the files in my email, but the sender receive it from an app called Communikate.

And what's happening exactly? When you try to open it, what happens? Does it give any error message? How are you trying to open it? Are you just clicking the icon? If you long press it, do additional options appear?

Do you have an app that can play MP3s installed on your phone?

I downloaded a MP3 app, but it doesn't work.

Can you tell us exactly, step by step, what you do and what happens? You receive an email and then you do what? Select the attachment and save it (if so, where, and then what do you do)? Click on it and hope that it will start playing? Or something else?

Also any error messages, dialogues, etc.

We only know what you tell us. So if the problem is in what you are doing, but you don't tell us what that is, we won't be able to help solve it.

I select download and it  says downloading, but never download.

So the file is an email attachment or a link? If attachment, can you receive other attachments OK?

So the problem isn't anything to do with playing MP3s, it's that you aren't able to download them from emails sent from this Communikate app? Except when I search for Communikate in the Play Store there isn't an app, just some sort of subscription within Google Play Music.

the thing is it works on my mother's phone. We have the exact same phone.

That still doesn't tell us exactly what you are doing, e.g. is it a link or an attachment?

And if it's coming through email you have a different email account from your mother, so there could be differences there. This is why we need as much information as possible in order to have a chance at working it out.

I open my email on her phone and it downloads in no time.

OK, so if the same email account allows you to download on a different phone then there is something different in the setup of your phone.

So, the tricky bit is working out what is different. And that's impossible for us while you continue not to provide any details: is this an email attachment or do you download through a link? If it's an attachment, can you receive other attachments OK (and if it's a link, do you have problems downloading other things)? Are you using the same email app on both phones? That sounds unlikely, since it would be odd to set up your email account on her phone, so did you instead use a browser to access the email? If so, is that what you did on your own phone? Are all of the app settings the same on both devices (email app, browser, any other app that's involved)?

There are a lot of possibilities, so I would start by looking at anything that's different between how you access it on one device vs the other, and if the procedures and apps are identical on both devices then check the settings of the apps, system security settings.

It's difficult to diagnose a fault remotely, extremely so when it's a very non-specific problem like "something doesn't download", which is why I'm suggesting you try to work out what is different between the setup that works and the setup that doesn't - you have access to those devices and we don't. But if you want someone to help you you will have provide details, and particularly when people ask for them. This is the 15th post in this thread, and you still haven't told us, for example, what app (or apps) you are using to download the files. Unless we know what you are actually doing we've no chance of working out what is wrong.
