My photos deleted

Newbie
My photos got deleted by mate 8 itself with no reason. One day I found my pictures and DCIM folders are empty.

Until now, I couldn't recover them,

Please anyone has an idea of how to recover them.

Bear in mind I have no backup.
 
Once deleted gone forever. Did you use Google photos by chance?
 
Were the photos and /dcim on internal storage or a micro-SD? If micro-SD you could try Recova, which will require a PC and a card-reader. Ensure you haven't written anything to the micro-SD since the pics went missing. If they're were on encrypted internal storage in the phone, no chance I think, once deleted from that they're gone forever.

No the photos in the internal storage

I tried to recover them but no joy.

But I still though have a hope to recover them.

It might help if you stated just what you have tried to recover your lost photos.
Did you install an app onto your phone that claims to be able to restore deleted items, or use a computer utility to access your phone's internal storage over USB connectivity? Also, which app or utility?

I connected the phone to a PC, and I downloaded a program called Dr. Fone

But the program couldn't access the phone internal storage.

So nothing achieved.
 
Maybe try this utility instead, PhotoRec:

It's worked out successfully for me in different situations. Note that any valid recovery utility is going to involve some patience (think in terms of hours as opposed to minutes). They scan a storage media block by block, searching for recognized file types so it's going to be a slow process . Also keep in mind that there's a good chance you'll only be able to restore some of your photos, mostly depending on how large a photo library you had, the size of your phone's internal storage, and how long ago the problem occurred. Don't rush the process and don't take any shortcuts, just let the utility run.

If you're a prolific poster of pics into your social media accounts (Facebook, etc.) perhaps a lot of your photos are still obtainable online?

And from now on, do be sure to have a backup solution implemented. I like Google Photos, it will automatically backup and sync your photos into your online Google account.

If you're averse to Google services in general, there are plenty of options too, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc. or manually to a local computer but however you do your backups it's important to do so. Do not rely on your smartphone as a long term storage media, they just aren't that reliable.

Forgot to add, hold off installing anything on your phone before you try to run that restore utility. The less you use your phone and if you hold off installing anything directly onto it, that reduces the chance your photos will get over-written in your phone's storage memory (thereby increasing the odds that they'll be recoverable).

I tried this program, but it only read the CD content but not the internal storage of the mobile
Can you provide me with more information please.
 
Try running the utility by giving it administrator privileges.
Also, be sure to double-check your phone is mounted to your computer.

The apparent problem doesn't sound like just which recovery utility is being used but the fact that the phone isn't mounted and detectable by the source computer (likely a driver issue, perhaps a user configuration issue).

I tried to solve it but until now, I couldn't get the desktop reads the mobile drive to enable the program scans the phone. however the phone files can be browsed in the computer
.
