my samsung galaxy y's battery gets low within 6-7 hrs even if i dont use it....what should i do? i cant carry the charger everywhere i bought the phone one year back....what is the problem with it?

Something is probably running a little out of control.

but i'm a new user....not familiar with a lot of terms.
Not many background apps run in my phone, but still if i dont use it, the battery exhausts in about 6-7 hrs,without even using it....so if m out for some hrs and use it a little....battery exhausts!
although i should mention that i'm using 3g data pack.
and now-a-days if i ve plugged in the charger while using it, it charges real slow which wasnt the same before.

You may try a program that limits what your device does while it is idle such as the one in this link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.latedroid.juicedefender&hl=en
It dous require a little interaction get set up but it is free and you may try others that are free til you find one to your liking. Welcome to the Forums.
