my sim card wont work

i bought a samsung note from amazon and my sim card is not detected in it, what can i do?
 
If the SIM should be compatible, and works in other phones, I'd take it up with Amazon and ask for a return/replacement or refund.

The other thing would be to check whether a different SIM works in it, if you have one accessible.
