Help My speech to text is still not working

Im new to android but I can't understand why my speech to text is not working except in a wifi zone. I have a Note 5 and a co-workers Note 5 works outside of a wifi zone. I've gone into the keyboards and phones settings and can't figure it out. This is a bit silly. I''m also using google keyboard. I think Google is analysing the speech... Is that correct?

Do you have mobile data turned off? Or some other restriction that prevents data connectivity when not on WiFi? AFAIK voice to text needs a data connection.

No mobile data is turned on.

What happens when you try to use speech-to-text? It just thinks infinitely without output? Or do you get an error? Or can you not open the voice prompt in the first place?

when I try to use it, it just gives me the message, "Offline mode unavailable" The annoying thing, my wife has the s6 edge and hers was working and I cant find the difference.

So I resolved the issue. It was some sort of conflict with English US and English Canadian. Under keyboard settings I switch to US to match the downloaded language on the phone for offline mode to work.
