Hi - having done some downloading of Apps at the company, until now, when i am no longer able to establish Internet conn.

Is there a way to re-establish the connection ie changing identity of tablet. Tried renaming the device, but it isnt working.

Pls help.

thanks

OK, Remove the connection from the device by hitting forget, in wi-fi settings and set up the connection again. If that doesn't work, is it likely that your device is not allowed to connect to this router, if not, the router may need a reboot

Yup - tried that, but WiFI still showing RED even after new connection. It seems my tablet is blacklisted ?!

I need to give the tablet a new identity.

Is that possible ?

No, because the mac address has probably been barred. This identifies your device on the network so the owner could have set their connection up just to allow certain devices to connect. To do this they use those devices mac addresses and anything not in that list is barred. You will need to resolve this with the owner of the wifi connection.

BUT try the connection in safe mode. If it works, an app is causing the problem

Thanks - i thought so too.

Just curious - do any of the "Hide IP for Android Apps" work when downloading ?
Ie is MAC Address kept anonymous in addition to IP addr ?

Secondly, what is SAFE mode - can't seem to find that option under WiFI settings ?

Hi, Your mac address isn't anonymous. You can "spoof" it but it involves rooting etc. I haven't tried this so can't really help

Safe mode is not in wifi. It's a way of booting your device with minimal apps being loaded (like Windows Safe mode). I don't know what your device is but Google can help, I'm sure
