my zte avid 4g takes blurry pictures

When I take a picture, any little movement while taking the pic and it is blurred. Like the shutter is open too long.

Is this a hardware issue? I've tried The stock and all the camera apps in the play store and they all act the same.

I never had this problem with my lg motion which was stolen. The avid was the replacement from the insurance. Should i get a replacement phone?
I take alot of pictures with my phone so this is a big issue.

in all probability, i think you have turned off auto focus.. go to settings and toogle AUTO FOCUS to ON... i have used my friend's device and the photo taking is quiet seamless man...

With all do respect, I'm not a ****** ;-)

I have it on Auto focus.
I also touch the screen to focus b4 taking the picture.

Still pics come out great, but if there is any tiny little bit of movement, it blurs.

For instance. If I take a pic of someone standing still But their arm is moving, they are in focus but their arm is blurry.
Like its over exposing.

Hi i would like to suggest you to do a master reset by going to Menu>System Settings>Backup & reset>Factory data reset and before doing the master reset, back up all the datas such contacts to SD card and that will fix the issue.

Been their done that. I've even installed the SD update from ZTE's website. All to no avail.

But thanks for trying.

I think it's a hardware issue.

I have the same issue with my camera, it takes poor quality photos that tend to get blury most of the time as well.

My Venture (a ZTE product rebranded Virgin Mobile) gets approximately the same result; the cause is that it doesn't take the photo when I expect it to. I command it to take the photo, a moment later it freezes the frame on the screen as if it just took the photo, then a moment after that freeze-frame display it actually takes the photo...by then I've already assumed that the photo was taken and moved my phone. Sometimes I remember, usually not.

Even if I remember, the camera hardware is pretty bad and only gets a good photo with a whole lot of light. Any less light and the photo is sure to be blurry. The only exception seems to be computer screens in text mode, it gets a good sharp photo of white text on a black backround (i.e. a server that failed to boot) pretty reliably with mediocre lighting.

It appears to be normal operation for my model. Perhaps the Avid 4G is hobbled in the same way.
