Help MySql database connection with Android

Hi All,

Can we use php file and or code in Android.

I want to make mysql database connection with Android.
I don't want to use SQLite database in android as our requirement is MySql not SQLite database.

So is it compulsary to make php file to make Myql database connection with Android ?
Can we use java code to make MySql database connection with Android.

Please reply as soon as possible.
