Mytouch and preloaded apps

Is there a way to delete some of the apps my phone came loaded with, like possibly Rock Band, although IDK yet, and the car race game demo? I don't think I'll be using some of them, but IDK how to junk them. Longtouch/trashcan is no good and neither is Easy Uninstall. Thanks

Option 1. Root the phone and have complete control over what apps are on it
Option 2. Ignore and live with the bloatware as you cant uninstall it without rooting
Option 3. Dl a 3rd party launcher as most of them allow you to hide the extra crap you wont use

What's a 3rd party launcher? Edit: Okay, now I know...which ones are best?
