n00b questions that I can't figure out.

I've got a G1 that is rooted and currently running Cyanogen 4.2.9.1.

Here's my n00b questions.
In the upper notification area how do I disable the digital clock and the battery indicator? The answer should be the same for rooted vs non-rooted so hopefully that's not an issue.

I don't think it's possible. I have a battery status app that I use because I like seeing the % charge. The regular battery indicator is still in the notification bar. The app dev said it isn't possible for him to disable the regular one. I think it is the same for the clock.

That would require some heavy modification of the status bar and most likely would need root access, since you need root just to change the color of the bar.

Since you seem to have rooted already, you'll need to seek out somebody who knows what modifications (if any) can be made to remove these things. My guess is it's not a possibility.
