n00bi3 app question

I have never bought an app for my android and am wondering what happens if I get a new phone. The Audubon has some nice apps to ID birds with, but I would like to keep the apps, which could easily run close to $US100 if I buy them for birds, animals, plants, and such for North America and some foreign countries.

If I get a new phone would I have to buy them again, or is it possible to port them from one phone to another?

I cannot confirm this, but the purchased apps are only good for the email address that you use your phone for. At least that is what T-Mobile told me. So I am guessing that means that if you get a new phone and utilize the email address that you used with yuor old phone, those purchased apps will appear in the market as already purchased. Therefore you would not have to buy them again for the new phone. Like I said earlier, I cannot confirm this.

Yep, that apps stay with the email address used to purchase them. Use the old email on the new phone and you'll be fine.

App purchases are associated with the gmail account used as the primary account on the phone. As long as you use the same gmail account with the next android phone, and assuming the app will be compatible with any later versions, you should be able to redownload it for free.
