Native Message App BUG

REFLEX65

Lurker
I searched for similar threads, but didn't find any.

I have a single contact who will display an old, cleared, FaceBook status update at the top of any message thread I attempt to create.

I didn't know there was any link between FB and the messaging app. And I can't seem to get this cleared from the "header" section in the messages.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Turns out, with little help from the befuddled Motorola service rep, I think I understand the problem.

The Droid pulls the FaceBook status for each contact into that contact's "header" (both in the Contacts app and the Message app] only ONCE -- at the time of the original contact info sync.

This will eternally display for those contacts who had an active FB status during the initial sync every time I view that contact in the Contacts app or go to send them a message in the Message app. Note that new FB status updates are ignored in this scenario.

Nice.

Can anyone else verify that their Droid "does" this? Or, is mine just messed up?

Thanks for replying, if you can muster the energy.

No, mine will update the pictures as the FB contacts change them...now I'm not sure it happens right away, but it does happen at some point.

@gulfstream: I wasn't writing about he FB pictures, but the status updates. Pictures for my contacts haven't changed for me to evaluate that part. Maybe the 2.1 update will render this a non-issue!
