Navigation has changed - how do I fix it

So, my Navigation used to give me turn by turn directions and show me on the map the way I was going, but now it just "chimes" when a turn or something is coming up, no verbal directions. Also, the view is different. It's as if i am looking down on a map with a constant point on the compass always facing a different direction.'

How do I change my preferences back to the way they were?

Not sure what's up with Navigation and Maps lately, but mine went all wonky and mirrored my maps and the text on the maps. Everything was turned backwards. This happened right after Google Maps updated the other day and I was in the passenger seat trying to help with directions on the Interstate. My boyfriend thought I was nuts "what do you mean the map is backwards?". LOL

To fix it I had to uninstall Google Maps and reinstall.

yeah at first use it was like a GPS first person view. after a while, im not sure what happen. it always bird eye view tracking gps. i don't know how to fix this..
