Help Navigation Voice Commands Stop After One Command

All,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 running Android 6.0.1. When I use Google Maps Navigation I get one voice command and then no more. Waze does the same thing. I am sure all the settings are correct: the speaker icon at the upper right is in the middle (speaker on) position. In Settings | Sounds and vibration, Sound mode is on "Sound" and under Volume all of the volumes are half way up or higher. In any case, I can hear the first voice command when I begin navigation.

After that first voice command, all further voice commands never are spoken. I cannot for the life of me figure out why.

BQ: is there any way to get the voice commands to go through my Bluetooth enabled car radio?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,
Go to settings >storage>cached data>clear cached data.
Go to settings>storage>apps>google text - to - speech engine> clear data> uninstall updates.
Go to settings>storage>apps>google map> clear data> uninstall updates.
Open the link below and update google text - to - speech engine. and, google map.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.tts

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.maps

Still problem persists.
Go to settings>storage>apps>google text - to - speech engine> clear data> uninstall updates.
Reboot /restart device.
Use the factory version and,
Wait for further updates.

I found the problem., thanks to my genius son. I heard the first voice command because I hadn't yet turned on the car. As soon as the car - and more important, the car radio - was on, the phone was sending the voice commands to the car radio via Bluetooth. But I was in Aux input mode, playing XM Radio. Once I changed the input to BT Audio the voice commands sounded loud and clear over my car's speakers.

But this means I cannot listen to music while I'm getting directions, an admittedly minor hardship. Or I can turn off Bluetooth on my phone to hear music on the radio and voice commands on my phone but then if a call comes in it won't go through the radio's Bluetooth. Not a perfect solution. This is, of course, not a problem with built-in GPS navigation because the software is smart enough to interrupt the audio to let you hear the directions.

Thanks for your reply.
