Navmii NavFree broken since android update

Afternoon all, I wondered if anyone had seen this issue? My Navmii worked fine but have just checked it and can only see random Chinese characters and no images or maps. There has been an android update since I last used it. Going away tomorrow so need to resolve. I have uninstalled cleared cache and reinstalled but same issue. I'll try an older version of Navmii later...

Update, I've managed to install it on an old Nokia Lumia 635 which will probably get me through this holiday, but I don't want to transfer my SIM just so I can search locations using Google so would love a fix to this. Thanks.
