Does anyone know what the Nearby feature does? It's located in the quick toggles.

I think it's one of those things Google keeps hoping will catch on.

Nearby helps you find and interact with services and devices close to you (within about 30 m or 100 ft).

• Nearby discoveries
  On your phone, you can do things like order in a cafe, find items in a store, or set up a new device..
• Nearby apps
  Each on your own phones, you and your friends or coworkers can do things like play games or collaborate in apps.

Nearby discoveries notifications are silent, disappear automatically, and show below your other notifications.

The Nearby entry in the Quick Toggles area just gives you a handy shortcut to the Nearby settings where you can enable/disable the feature and its notifications.

To give an example of what Nearby does, walk into a mall, you'll see a notification that you can tap and see a map of the mall and a list of stores.
