Need a chat app...

Hello,

NOOB to Android and this site.

My wife and I currently use Blackberry Messenger to chat as it does not eat into our Verizon alotment.

Is there a crossplatform app that will work with Android and iphone? I want to get an HTC and she wants iphone. We SMS to each other alot and dont want to give up the unlimited aspect of BBM but will make the switch if apps can easily cover the functionality of BBM.

Check these out. The trick will then be to get one for the iPhone that will work with the Android. I did not read anything about these apps, so you may find that they say they will work across both platforms.
