Need an app that stops my screen from turning off

Ok, it seems like this should be a very simple request. I've downloaded many apps that claim they prevent the screen from turning off, but my screen still turns off after about 30 seconds. I've tried always on and stay alive on both my Samsung Note 20 and my Samsung A01. Both still turn off the screen after 30 seconds when enabled. I've checked both of them in the android settings under display. Neither have the option to just disable the screen turning off.

Phones don't have the option to disable the screen timeout, but they certainly let you set it longer than 30 seconds (my pixel allows me to set it as long as 30 minutes, which is pretty standard).

I wrote a simple Tasker task a long time ago to set the timeout to 24 hours when running certain apps (and reset it to my default when I left those apps), so that should be possible.

Odd my Stylo 6 gives me the option to keep the screen from timing out.

Think it depends on the phone and what the manufacturer has decided. Samsung Galaxy S7 with Android 8, I can only set 30 minutes maximum, Huawei Mate 10 with Android 10, I can set it to never go off, no time-out.

If no apps can override that, then you might have to look at root and a suitable custom ROM(if available)

You need to let look in your apps and you need to find out which one of your apps has control of your screen because that's what's doing it I have a stylistics on Metro and I have the screen never turn off and the only time it turns off is when I turn it offsettings you have an app that has some sort of bug.

The simple solution is to open your developer options and activate 'staty awake'.

This will prevent the screen from turning off while the device is plugged in to a charger of any sort.

The screen will dim after the normal set timeout, but will not shut off.

If plugging the device into a charger is not an option, then use a power block or the like.

If this is still unacceptable, then there are a couple of apps that are activated via a quick setting tile that may work for you.

I will say that in my experience that the apps were not as reliable as the stay awake feature.

Stay awake does not fail.

Here are the links for the apps.
