need application to restrict use of internet..

guyz is there any application or any in-bulit setting... with the use of which i can turn-off or turn-on internet on my android phone ? i just wana to keep it close as when my friendz take my phone and strt to open internet and then turn it on when i want to surf ..hehehehe..

Well, if I'm reading you correctly...which admittedly made my head hurt, there is a widget that controls gps, wifi and much more. It's called power control.

Also, you could simply turn airplane mode on as well. Don't know what type of phone you use but for my mytouch I just hold down the same button I use to turn my phone off and click on airplane mode.

thnks for replyng.... i m using sony x8 ... i just wana to turn-on or turn-off .. internet connection provided by my service provider , not wifi or gps.... and bro not sure why it made your head hurt... may be you r also one of those who like to surf at cost of others ...hehehe .. dont mind... cheers

when someone types like this...it just..idk...it makes my head hurt...

Anyway, like I said, afaik the only solution is to turn airplane mode on or make friends that understand you don't have an unlimited data plan and they shouldn't be messing with your phone unless it's an app you tell them they can use.

Ohh can you tell me more about airplane mode ? i am new user of the phone , have absolutely no idea regarding airplane mode, what all difference will be there in normal mode & airplane mode ?

Airplane mode pretty much shuts down anything your phone uses to connect to any wireless services. Meaning, it's pretty much a standalone device with no wifi connection, no gps connection, no data connection etc.

You can't even place a phone call or text but you can still use your apps that don't require any of these.

Ohh but i just wana to shut internet access ,not everything.But during surfing on google i got my answer. There is in0built setting. application-wirrelees&network-data trafiifc= switch it off..... and there you go.. net goes off...... and turn it on..net comes again...hurray
