Need better Exchange email...

Here's what I'm looking for...

I just got the Droid-X after using a winmo phone. Winmo sucks, but it's exchange support was great.

Anyway, I'm frequently needed to forward large attachments (frequently 10meg plus) when not in the office, and on winmo it works like a dream. The phone simply tells the exchange server to forward the email, and it's done. It doesn't actually download the attachment.

The built in mail client on the Droid however I've found it has to download the attachment, then resend the attachment. I find this rather annoying to wait minutes for something to download, and then minutes to upload again when my crappy old winmo phone would be done in a split second.

At least there is strong 3G coverage where I am, which is more than I can say for my colleagues that have an iPhone, as there is zero 3G coverage here with AT&T. :)

Are there any email programs, free (preferably) or paid that offer better exchange support in regards to forwarding attachments? I'm quite happy with the email sync and calendar support otherwise, I just really don't want to download attachments to forward because with such a new phone and exchange that really shouldn't be necessary.

I can't say yet how well it works with large attachments but I am using Touchdown in the trial mode and it seems to function quite well for everything else I have used it for.

I was looking at their webpage, and was about to fire off an email to ask them that question.

Have you tried forwarding attachments without downloading the attachment first? It doesn't matter the size, if it forwards a small attachment without downloading the attachment first, it'll do the same for large ones, which really is all I'm looking for :)

Thus far, it has worked seamlessly. By that I mean, if it did something different with the attachment or mail message being forwarded, I didn't notice. I just clicked forward, filled in the addy fields and clicked send. Didn't notice any delays and the mails sent.

I just downloaded the trial version, I think I downloaded the wrong version even, but it seems to forward without downloading the attachments. I'm gonna play with it some more, but I think this is a program I will be purchasing!

Thanks for the quick help!

I just downloaded too. I believe you still have to download the file before forwarding. This really really sucks. If I can't figure this out i am taking my phone back.
