Need help ASAP to finish my 2.2 update on Droid

So I successfully installed Froyo to my phone last night. But its running slow at some points and can't get SetCPU to let me change speed. Today in SPrecovery I did a backup and then restore and then it let me finally install update.zip, i'm trying to install P3Droids 1200mhz low voltage kernal. I finally get that to go through instead of saying blocked and phone loads with the following info below, but still slow and still can't adjust speed. Setcpu says my phone is not rooted and shows me running scaling mhz.

Android version 2.2
Baseband c_01.3e.01p
Kernel 2.6.32.9-p3droids
Build voiles-userdebug 2.2 FRFxx 33333 test keys

I just tried an nandroid advanced restore, chose the p3droid downloaded .zip file name 12-1200-v32kernel.zip and ran it and it came up ERROR: Nandroid exited with status 25

If I am not mistaken, the P3D kernel can not be updated via nandroid. It's an update.zip and must be installed as such...
