Need help choosing phone.

Hi everyone!

I'm am looking for a new phone since my contract is up next month. I am looking for phone from AT&T or Verizon that meets what I do. What I mainly do on my phone and what I want from it:

-Watch movies and videos (looking for good screen quality!)
-listen to music (mainly I use earbuds)
-Browse the web
-wanting good battery life

Things that I don't do/care about:
-Take Pictures / record videos
-Build quality (I'll just throw on a case after I get the phone. :P )
-Playing games

Any help? Currently I am mainly looking at the HTC One and Galaxy S4. Thanks :D
 
Both of those phones are actually way better than you require - you certainly wouldn't be disappointed with either.

The only areas you might find them wanting are battery and price. The battery issue can be addressed with an external battery but with the S4 you would also have the option of carrying a second phone battery.

Re price: if you're happy to pay for these phones that's cool, however your questions suggests you really don't need something this expensive and you could get something cheaper (maybe the S3) and be happy.

If you really want to save money without sacrificing much, though, get a Nexus 4. It's a terrific phone (I have one) at an unbelievable price and would fit the your requirements at least as well as the S4 and One at a fraction of the price.

If it's between the S4 and the One, though (and why not?), I would go for the HTC One as it's prettier, better built and gets rave reviews while the S4 has had Meh reviews. But that's personal and I'm sure both you and I would be delighted with either.
