Need help deciding

I am ready to get a new phone, but need help deciding. I THOUGHT I knew what I wanted, until I read some of the threads on this forum...

Situation:

  1. I have been with Sprint for the last 4 years... using the same original phone I got. I haven't upgraded my phone because:
    1. I have been on the original SERO plan (500 minutes, unlimited text & data for $50/mo).
    2. despite being 4 years old, my phone has actually been ok up until the last few weeks. It's a HTC Mogul.
  2. My wife has been on a family plan w/ my 3 daughters - all 4 of them have had iPhones (on ATT). But now all 3 daughters are grown and moved out of the house and are on their own plans.

Desire:
We both want smart phones on a family plan (for the 2 of us).


Things that are important to me (in no particular order of importance):

  1. Satellite GPS (so far as I know, only HTC phones do both regular satellite gps and aGPS). Let me re-iterate - I despise aGPS-only phones... the accuracy of the location is abysmal.
  2. A "good" camera - I love the EVO/Thunderbolt camera
  3. A good front facing camera (one that I can use for video chat)
  4. 4G - I live in a relatively small town, but we're a college town and Vz already has 4g/LTE here ... including to my house (at least, according to Vz's map).
  5. dual core
  6. as big, clean, crisp display as possible (we're both nearly 50, and our eyes ain't as good as they used to be).

Because of the 4G/LTE, going w/ Verizon seems to be an obvious choice. But I am concerned about the tiered data plans (if I am reading them correctly).

Even though the Thunderbolt isn't dual-core, I was just about to jump on board... until I read all the negative comments here about it. I like the looks of the Samsung Galaxy S2... but the lack of satellite GPS is simply annoying the crap out of me.

Advice?
 
Agps stands for assisted GPS. The purpose for it is to use cell towers to locate nearby satellites. You still use GPS to track your position. Agps just helps your phone to get a quick lock. This is not the same as using cell towers to triangulate your position.

The galaxys has GPS with agps.
