I am ready to get a new phone, but need help deciding. I THOUGHT I knew what I wanted, until I read some of the threads on this forum...
Situation:
Desire:
We both want smart phones on a family plan (for the 2 of us).
Things that are important to me (in no particular order of importance):
Because of the 4G/LTE, going w/ Verizon seems to be an obvious choice. But I am concerned about the tiered data plans (if I am reading them correctly).
Even though the Thunderbolt isn't dual-core, I was just about to jump on board... until I read all the negative comments here about it. I like the looks of the Samsung Galaxy S2... but the lack of satellite GPS is simply annoying the crap out of me.
Advice?
Situation:
- I have been with Sprint for the last 4 years... using the same original phone I got. I haven't upgraded my phone because:
- I have been on the original SERO plan (500 minutes, unlimited text & data for $50/mo).
- despite being 4 years old, my phone has actually been ok up until the last few weeks. It's a HTC Mogul.
- My wife has been on a family plan w/ my 3 daughters - all 4 of them have had iPhones (on ATT). But now all 3 daughters are grown and moved out of the house and are on their own plans.

- Satellite GPS (so far as I know, only HTC phones do both regular satellite gps and aGPS). Let me re-iterate - I despise aGPS-only phones... the accuracy of the location is abysmal.
- A "good" camera - I love the EVO/Thunderbolt camera
- A good front facing camera (one that I can use for video chat)
- 4G - I live in a relatively small town, but we're a college town and Vz already has 4g/LTE here ... including to my house (at least, according to Vz's map).
- dual core
- as big, clean, crisp display as possible (we're both nearly 50, and our eyes ain't as good as they used to be).
