Need Help Deciding

I've been doing a lot of thinking, and I've finally settled that I'm getting an Android device, this after having had a blackberry for a long long time. Tough choice, but I'm ready to do the switch...

Now, I can't decide between the Nexus One or the HTC Incredible. At first I had set my heart on the N1 and was patiently waiting for big red to get it. However, as I read more about the INC, I am not sure what to do anymore. Here are some reasons I find each phone appealing, and I'm not sure what to decide, so I kind of want to hear your thoughts on why or why not either phone.

Nexus One
-Google's baby. I like the fact that I know Google will care for it and update it first before the rest.
-Read a couple of bad things with the whole AMOLED screen of the N1, but I don't know that this is a deal breaker. Many seem to be happy with it regardless.
-Concerned about the poor tech/customer support Google/HTC is giving.

HTC Incredible
-Bigger camera
-In-store support
-Optical trackpad
-Sense UI. So far what I've read isn't so bad, and I know people either love it or hate it, but I don't think I'll hate it. I don't think Sense will slow down the device that much, but I won't know this until I get it.
-The processor is slightly different. Is this better? Same?

Your comments are greatly appreciated. Now if the phones could finally be released...

Incredible's processor is underclocked to 768 MHz. The N1 functions at 1 GHz out of the box.

Otherwise, it comes down to: do you want to get the latest OS updates immediately, or do you want to lag months behind?

What about the whole talk about CDMA possibly handling voice and data at the same time? I thought I read that in Engadget and I thought the processor of the Inc was relevant for that. Hmm...

sense doesn't slow it down...especially with the processor that they Inc. is gonna be sporting. I've got an Eris and just salivating for drop day on the Inc. And, it seems like you've already decided...you listed a few cons for the N.O, and then pros for the Inc--seems like you're trying to talk yourself in to the Inc and want our help! lol

Sense does slow things down some, in the sense that it takes up more memory than stock Android. I've got Sense on my N1 (based on the release candidate of Desire, no less), so I should know. On an unrooted phone, which can use only half of that 512MB RAM or so, this could even present a problem. But HTC knows their stuff, so in general I don't believe phones with Sense out of the box are particularly laggy.

The processor is irrelevant. It's a network limitation.

It's really a subjective judgment call. I wouldn't consider some of your pros as pros nor some of your cons as cons. I agree that you've pretty much indicated that you prefer the Incredible from your research. From my perspective, there isn't much difference between the devices IMO but I'm not a fan of HTC to begin with so I'm not a good person to ask.

Sigh... not exactly lol. I've had my heart set for the N1 for a long time now. And the Inc offers slight better specs, but nothing that renders the N1 inadequate. I think the biggest thing holding me back is the fact that the N1 will be getting immediately, whereas the Inc will have to wait for Vzw insufferable approval process... I think having the latest software updates is critical... though the article on Engadget about Froyo has me at a loss now... What will I do!?? lol

I believe having an AMOLED screen is an advantage, it is better technology in my opinion. Check out this link for details, DENSITRON's Active Matrix OLED Displays (AMOLED)

The Sense UI I see as a disadvantage because it will delay OS updates. Do you really want to wait 6+ months for an android update?

The camera debate is irrelevant, without optical zoom neither phone will be a great camera.
