Help Need help, phone turns off when screen turns off

My dad have got a Samsung xCover 2 and he has a problem with it turning off when the screen goes off. I have been trying it out a bit now and every time the screen goes off the phone does too. So for every time you want to use the phone you have to restart it. Just wondering if someone could help me with this problem.
Appreciate if someone can help out :o

If you press the power button when the screen is off, the screen doesn't come on? Then something is broken - the power switch, the motherboard, something. It's not something someone can diagnose on the forum and give you a quick fix for.

If the screen comes back on when you press the power button, you have to unlock the lock screen (which is what you're seeing) - by whatever means it's set to unlock - swipe, PIN code, password or pattern.

If, when you press the power button, the "power off, restart, etc." menu comes up, press the back key to get rid of it and unlock the lock screen.

(Just throwing guesses out here, because you're not too clear on exactly what's happening, just on how you're getting around it.)

Thanks for the answer, the phne turns on and the screen is working just fine, itis when it turns off the problem comes. We did some testing and it turns out that it do not turn off, just the screen. We are able to call the phone and adjust the volume like if the screen was on. It just goes black after first sleep.
