Need help setting up Hotmail on Samsung Galaxy Ace

hi, i just got my first Android phone. im trying to set up the Email app with my hotmail account, but its not working.

easy set up doesnt work (Setup could not finish: Unable to connect server)

then i tried manual setup. so i tried setting up with the POP3 account. i used the correct ports and everything for hotmail. then i get an error that says "SSL handshake failed" or something and a whole bunch of gibberish after that

Many of the web based mail service have difficulties with the stock mail app. It's best to use the Hotmail app.
