Apps Need help: The application launcher stops unexpectedly...dunno what to do :(

Hi,
I have just started learning Android app development and I am on the Linear Layout tutorial at
Linear Layout | Android Developers

Although I have followed all the instructions i.e. created the layout XML file correctly, etc.. I get this error message when I run my app on the emulator -

"The application launcher (process.com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

Please help a newbie. What should I check or do??

use try catch in your code...if you have written any code and use logcat to view error logs
