Need help understanding video format& issues

witch player is the best to convert video?

Players dont convert video. Converters do. And I already suggested he use Handbrake, its easiest to learn.

Ok, every time I try to download handbrake, it says I need to download something else OR use google for a direct download url. So I searched in google for "handbrake direct download url" and no every site I tried says the same thing.

Are you sure you went here:

HandBrake

and clicked on Download under windows?

I just did that and it downloaded the exe to my computer in a few seconds.
