Help Need help with audio file recovery

Bon Ragus

Lurker
I have a Samsung note5. Using Android file transfer on mac - I accidentally dragged/deleted audio files .wav to trash - expecting it to be in the trash bin but it's not. need help to recover please can someone help.
I tried diskdigger-but only works with photos.
I tried Dr. Fone but does not have the audio option
I tried Undeleter - but only seems to scan image files
I also tried fonepaw but not successful after the scan
Also tried Audio recovery - was unsuccessful as algorithm scan did not produce the audio files i was hoping to recover
any more useful information? need help please

The Mac trash-can doesn't apply to Android File Transfer, it's only for drives directly connected to the Mac.

Were the audio wavs on SD or internal storage. If they were on SD, try using using something like Recuva, with the SD in a card reader on the computer. And remove the SD from the phone immediately, to prevent anything from being overwritten. If they were in internal storage, that might need professional level forensic data recovery techniques, something like Drive Savers. And stop using the phone immediately and turn it off, again to prevent any deleted data from being overwritten. Even installing a supposed data recovery app could overwrite the deleted data it claims to be able to recover. If your device has 6.x Android or later, the internal storage is securely encrypted, which could make data recovery virtually impossible, ask the NSA.

Thanks for this. jeez It's looking more and more to be a futile effort now.
1. it was on internal memory (my phone does not have sd slot). I do have 6.x android..
2. this happened about 4 hours ago, haven't turned off my phone and have downloaded a bunch of recovery aid apps both in phone and on my desktop now since then hoping to scan and it would turn up a 'deleted files folder' somewhere in my internal storage...no point knocking myself out over that deletion mistake. although those audio files were really really important. should I just quit and let it go?
