Lurker
Hi, everyone. So, I left my cellphone - a Sony Xperia L - whit a friend for him to instal the CM for me. But he did not had all the time, so he said he just installed the BIOS and all I had to do was flash CM ROOM. But I have no idea of how to do that. My phone is on this CM Recovery page. Any help, please?

Wipe cache partition, then install update (you may have to navigate to the update zip and select it)

Where is the "backup" option? You always want to take a backup before installing a new ROM. I've never seen a custom recovery (it's not a "bios") without a backup option, and would not use one that didn't.

The full procedure is back up, factory reset then install ROM. If you install CM without doing a factory reset it won't boot - a cache wipe is not sufficient unless you were running a CM ROM already.

That was my point: that recovery menu has wipe, install and reboot options on one screen, but no backup option visible. And the mix of things on the screen doesn't suggest that there are other menus.

But a recovery that didn't let you take a nandroid backup would be so crippled that I can't imagine anyone bothering to write it, so presumably the option is there somewhere...
