I am transferring music from my pc to my Samsung note 2. I am using the USB cord. I use windows explorer to open my note 2 (sch-1605). I get 2 folders CARD and PHONE. When I open CARD, I only get DCIM, DOWNLOAD and LOST. I know that pictures go into DCIM (digital camera Image) but no place for music. I opened the LOST folder and it had a MUSIC folder in it, so I put my music in there. BUT I don't think that is the right way to do it? Any thought on that? Everything seems to work ok tho. Any thoughts on that? Thanks in advance. Jer

First, welcome to AF!

You shouldn't be putting music in /LOST. I haven't google'd to see what that directory is for, but it's not music.

I don't know what version of Android you have. GB? ICS? JB? In ICS on my Thunderbolt, there's a /Music folder in the root of my sdcard.

If you're not seeing one, try creating one and putting a single music file in it. Once transfer is complete, remove the music folder from /LOST (but leave the LOST folder), unplug the phone and open whatever media player you use on your phone. If the song is in your catalog then you should be good to go.

If it's not, post back with specifics on your phone:

* Are you rooted?
* What version of Android?
* What media player? Stock or something from the market?

Alternately, you could try posting in the appropriate Note 2 forum, but let's see if we can solve it here first (if a mod wants to move this to Note 2, that's fine. I'll continue to try to help)

Thanks for the welcome. Phone is not rooted as it is a brand new phone and I don't have any idea what is a rooted phone. My ver is 4.1.2 Jelly bean. I transferred everything out of my LOST folder to a flashdrive and as soon as I find out how to turn off my auto backup and remove those unwanted photos, I will try your suggestion. I am now posting in the note 2 forum. Thanx for your help. Jer
