Hi guys! New to the forum.

:(

Anywho, NEED alot of help. I just moved from Puerto Rico to NY and my current service provider on my android (P.S. HUAWEI U8150 COMET IDEOS, Hope im in the right section ^^") is T-mobile my family members decided to gift me a MetroPCS cellphone and I would like to use it on my Tmobile android...to my surprise MetroPCS doesn't have sim cards. I did some research that its diffrent from normal cellphones because their CDMA? While normal providers (Ex like Tmobile) use GSM. :/ How the heck can I unlock or transfer my service??? :< I have Tmobile prepaid if that helps!

Thanks for reading xD

Hi Digichan, I don't think you can change CDMA to GSM. My phone service provider was Telecom, and they advised they were shutting down CDMA and therefore I would need to upgrade to their new system by purchasing a compatible cell phone. The old system phone was useless because the CDMA was dedicated to Telecom and did not require a SIM card to operate.
Cell phones are locked to geographical areas as I understand, and you pay to have them unlocked to suit the Global area you live in.
Hope this makes sense for you.
GSM phones which I have used (and I have one currently which my wife is using) was first used in the UK in Virgin phone provider and brought to NZ and used in Vodaphone just by changing the SIM card. I now use that phone with another provider called 2 Degrees and again just changing the SIM card.
Someone more knowledgeable may have an expert opinion but I think what I have stated here is correct. Cheers Neil.
