Need help with SG3

[Android Question]

Hi there,
I recently switched from being and iOs hacker to becoming and Android Noob.
I have A Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 and I want to root it so bad so I can install stock roms.
But how?
My phone specs are:
Model Number: GT - I9300
Android Version: 4.0.4
Kernel Version 3.0.15-554502-user

SMP PREEMPT

I want to root and then install a stock rom. Where do I find a root that won't brick my device and where can I get a stock rom But I don't want to brick my device!
If any more information is requiired pls tell me.
I just want to root phone.

*PS my phone is locked to Orange ~ UK does this matter
