i have the droid 2 global. running with launcher pro. im basially wondering if theirs any free apps or super cheap apps that let you make your own backgrounds on the phone. and also is there anything better than the launcher pro plus?

Yup launcher pro is the best. Not sure about the background part though.

You may want to check out xda forums where all the developers and newbies and in-betweens hang out. And I'm a newbie.

What do you mean by creating your own background in the phone? The stock launcher should allow you to select any image in your phone to be set as wallpaper. If you want to find nice wallpapers, you can check out deviant art or even flickr.

As for launchers, there are many to choose from, but Launcher Pro and ADWlauncher seem to be the most popular. Zeam is excellent because it's fast but has fewer customisation features. It seems more stable the Launcher Pro to me though, as it seldom force closes.

People speak highly of Go Launcher Ex also. I personally use Luncher Pro because it came installed with the Cognition ROM. It has been hangin on me for boot and if it keeps it up I'll try out Go Launcher.

Backgrounds. I make most of my own from stock photos on the web. Resize or crop them with Paint.net
I also have "Best Wallpapers" and "Backgrounds" apps from the market.
