Need new phone for my little girl...

I been looking to get a phone for my daughter to stay in touch...
The ex-wife has kids.. long story...
I am with sprint, and would like to get her on my service plan. But the phones they offer are not what I want for her...
I got the evo 4G.. I would like for her to have an Android phone but don't wish to get her an evo due to the extra fees... and if I want to get another phone on my contract I have to pay the full price of the phone...
I looked around for unlock phones and founded a lot from Europe and Asia... but they don't say if they work on sprint, just shows at&t and t-mobile...
Please help me find a decent, cheap Android phone for my baby girl...

I'd look on your local Craigslist. I don't understand why you would have to pay full price when your adding on a line.

If you get a Moment that works right, it's a nice phone, but it's really hit and miss with it. I'm on my third phone and it works great finally. My wife is on her third and it's still not working right. If I had the money to get an EVO I'd get one, and then give her my phone and then sell her's.

I suppose there's always the Hero? Great little phone, even though I can't imagine getting it over the EVO even with the $10/mo difference.

But you didn't really define your needs all that much.

Why would you have to pay full price for a phone for a new line?

Yeah, wouldn't a new line be priced as a new customer? I would just get her the Hero, honestly. Good phone, not top of the line.

Um, how old is she, and does she really need a smartphone?

I'm getting a new phone because the phone I got with the new line someone else has it and I'm not able to get it back...
My girl is 11.. yes, she may not be old enough to have the top smart phone, but she is very good using the Evo..
Besides, she is my baby and I would love to give her a Droid phone...
