Since you all have been really helpful with my questions about android phones a few months back (even though I have yet to actually buy one) I figured I'd also post this question here. My laptop hard drive has crashed and I have lost the last 5 months of my life because we procrastinated in doing our usual computer back-up on our portable hard-drive. Lesson learned. Because of this painful lesson and because I know that we will surely become lax again at doing our regular hard-drive back-ups, I have decided to get an online data storage account as a "back-up to my back-up".
I won't have too much stuff to store so I can probably go with one of the plans that offer like 2 gb of free storage. Can anyone recommend which might be the best one for me? I am a mac user. Would not need to sync my stored data with other computers - would only be accessing info from my laptop in the event of another crash. Would mostly be storing any new photos and new word and excel documents until the next hard-drive backup. Maybe a short flip video or a few itunes/amazon song purchases once in a while but nothing major.
Looking for something EXTREMELY user-friendly (as in "online storage for dummies") and looking for something that would back-up my computer daily.
I have heard horrid things about Carbonite from a few sources so not interested in them. What about Dropbox or Mozy or Backblaze? Can anyone recommend what might be the best one for me? Thanks!
