Need to block a phone number

Hi all. First off, I've had my Evo for a little over a month and I'm lovin it. It's my first smart phone and it's been pretty nifty. Now, on to my question: how do I block a phone number? I have an ex who will not leave me alone and I'm hoping there's a way to do it without involving my carrier. Thanks in advance for any help

You can block phone numbers from Sprint's website.

EDIT: Whoops. Didn't see the part about not involving the carrier. There should be some apps that can block it but I use the Sprint website.

add the number and contact to your list.

then you can set the properties of that contact.
to silent!

from the main contact screen people listing...
find the contact you want to "black list"
touch and hold till a list pops up.
find the option to block/blacklist

Does it not allow them to not even leave a voice message?

you can get an app in the market.. "mr number call block"

it gives you 2 choices...
1. block and forward to voice message
2. block and hang-up.

eh just go to sprint.com log in go to my prefences go to block voice and type in the number. Wish sprint would let you block private and obvious caller ID fakers

You could also use you mail from the market or go to their website and set up an account .Then add that number to your contact list then have it answer with "dee doo dee this number has been disconnected" and you mail just hangs up. Also there are recordings for "this number is being monitored by the police and any further attempts to call this number will result in Harrasment charges" lol
