need to get contacts from s6 w/ broken screen

Ok, long story short, I have learned the hard way the importance of backing up one's phone....

No that is out of the way....

My S6 has a broken screen which is now unresponsive and stays dark. I got a new Note5 tonight, and they could not transfer anything from the S6 due to not being able to use the screen. I connected the S6 to my PC and removed the photos and music from it. Now, I just need the contacts.....

Please help. I have tried everything that I can think of.

I don't have a Samsung device anymore, so don't know for sure - but aren't the contacts stored on gmail by default? Or is there an option on the S6 to store the contacts on the device itself?
If you were saving to gmail, log into your google account and see if the contacts are there (google.com/contacts)

I wonder if there's some form of remote connectivity app for mobile to mobile connections. .

I'm sure there are, but with the touchscreen broken, op can't configure the app (unless it is already installed/configured) on the broken device

Perhaps I'm missing something but can't you just log into your Gmail account on any other PC or Android device to see your contacts? I can update contact info on any of my tablets or S6, and changes are almost immediately reflected elsewhere. Just log into your Gmail account on the Note5.

if VZW is your carrier, your contacts should be saved therein. Ask Customer Support.

HTH.
