Long time Android user, first time poster.
My Uncle gave me his old Samsung Galaxy S5. It has Verizon stock FW loaded to it. My current Galaxy S5 is stock AT&T. I'm looking to change my Uncle's phone from Verizon to ATT, so I can move my SIM and start using it. My old S5 is on it's last leg. So, I'm hoping to get my Uncle's phone converted so I can use it.
Stats:
Uncle Phone: SM-G900V - Stock FW and OS for my region. Whatever the provider is supporting.
My Phone: SM-G900A - Stock FW and OS for my region. Whatever the provider is supporting.
So far, I've got my PC loaded with Odin, my Uncle's phone is in debug mode with Samsung USB drivers loaded to PC. I got G900AUCS4DPH4 v 6.0.1 FW loaded to Odin, in the 4 sections they belong. Ran Odin as an admin. Re-Partition is not ticked. Basically, using default options.
When I start the process, the phone says: SECURE CHECK FAIL : PIT
I've never done this before, but I felt my sys admin, and general IT background, would have given me an edge. Apparently not. I'm a quick learner, but with so many variables, and so many ways to break it, I'm not sure what I'm doing is being done the right way, or if it's even possible.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
