Negotiate Contracts, any tips, stories?

I am fed up with Verizon, but that's a story for another time.

Can anyone shed some light on how flexable Verizon can be on contracts? One friend suggested that I refuse to sign the electronic signature tablet and insist they print out the document so you can amend and initial your changes. Could this work?

Has anyone successfully bartered down the cost of a phone?

Best advice i can give, wait till you're out of contact, and wait for them to start calling you.. That's really the only time you have the upper hand.. I just upgraded my phone and they didn't want to offer me $100 for my NE2 because i had a $59 plan..($100 credit required a $80.00+ primary plan, excluding "options") I told the friendly lady "look, i HAD to have a data plan for my smartphone, so you still got $95 a month for my NE2 line" .. she aggreed and gave me an additional $50 credit..

Trust me, VZ will bend, but you must be out of contract to get the best deals

There are really only a few ways to get out of a contract with Verizon:

1. Be deployed by the military.
2. Die.
3. Prove that you've moved to an area where Verizon doesn't offer coverage.
4. Pay the early termination fee.
