Network Message on Caller Name ID

I have a feature called Caller Name ID from Verizon. It is supposed to provide the name of the person calling me. If someone calls me a "network message' pops up with the name of the person. Unfortunately the message is very brief so that if I am not looking at the phone when it first rings I do not see it, nor does there seem to be a record of it. Any help with this would be appreciated. Is there a way to lengthen, or record, this 'network message'.
