Network mode: global or lte/cdma?

I'm wondering the same thing. Mine is set to global by default, but I'm not really out of the country ever. I'd assume I want it set to LTE but if it doesn't really matter that much I'll just keep it on global.
 
If you set it to Global won't the phone be wasting CPU and battery looking for extra communication bands?
