That would definitely be a workable plan if: 1) one was always within range of wifi and, 2) existing customers were allowed to switch to it.

According to the fine print, it's a short-term promotional plan for new accounts only. Also, if you switch away from the plan you can't select it again.

OP, I'm curious - where did you find this? I didn't see any reference to it on Virgin Mobile's website. The only place I see it is by following the link.

It is a promotional plan that is apparently only available for the phones listed on the page at the link, so no Samsung GS2, GS3, GS5.
 
had to break the link or it reverts to what it is in the original post. maybe they want it to be hard to find for some reason since cell companies are all so quirky.
